New Years Resolutions
One day into 2014 and I'm sure everyone is just as sick of hearing about resolutions as I am, but it's a topic that I still wanted to post about oddly. Anyway, I somehow managed to come up with 6 resolutions. Pretty sure that's more than I've ever had before. We'll see how long I stick to them before something gets in the way. Hopefully posting them for the entire internet to see helps me actually follow through with them (please feel free to yell at me if I stop doing any one of these things).
1. Posting consistently, on time, and more YouTube videos
I felt I needed to list this first because it is mostly for all of you reading. I know this is a late post (when did it get to be 10 pm as I started typing this?), but I promise I'm going to do my best to not post past 5 p.m. anymore. I really have no excuse, considering there's at least 3 drafts of posts on here, not to mention countless scribbled out in a notebook. So first order of business: my posts, after this week, will not be up any later than 5 p.m. I'm also going to post more videos for you guys, because why not.
2. Get back to the gym.
I think this is a resolution everyone and their brother makes every year and I seriously need to get back on the bandwagon. I pay for a gym membership every month.. The last time I went? Good question, probably October if I remember right. Yep, at least 3 months. Draining my bank account for absolutely no reason is not good. So here's to getting back on track.
3. Focusing on school.
Yet another resolution that I think everyone makes. I'm (terrifyingly) realizing that I am a year away from graduation. I'm officially closer to finishing college than I am to starting it. And though I joke about Grad School looking better and better everyday, let's be honest - that's not happening. I've been lucky enough that my parents are paying for my school. Probably about time I start putting in the same amount of effort into making my grades look as high as that tuition bill.
4. Be more organized.
I consider myself a fairly organized person, until I sit down and really look at my life and realize it's a mess. So this one doesn't need much of an explanation. Plain and simple.
5. Saving money.
Currently, I'm roughly $1500 in debt thanks to my lovely, not-so-wonderful car. I also have a serious shopping problem. So between those two things, and the fact that I'm nearing adulthood, I'm slightly freaking out (see also: I'm graduating in a year and have no idea how to budget). Saving money should probably be my number one ranked resolution, but baby steps, people.
6. Read more.
My Kindle wishlist is currently about 40 books long. I wish that was a joke, but it's not. I actually really enjoy reading, I just need to take the time for it. I've got a bit of a jump start seeing as it's winter break, so I've already finished Divergent and am currently (slowly) working my way through Wolf of Wall Street. Hopefully I can keep it up.
Anyways, I'm sure you're all really excited to know that I have essentially the same resolutions as every other person when the new year rolls around, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Let me know what your resolutions are and I will talk to you guys next week.
xx
