Back to School | Easy Outfit Ideas

Happy Saturday everyone! Sorry my post is a little late, I got back from the lake Wednesday and have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off since. I know we agreed to not start Back to School week until next week, but I have two ideas and I figured I'd start it off!

Also some exciting news, Kayson and I have switched days to better fit our school schedules. So from now on, you'll hear from me on Mondays and Kayson on Thursdays!

The eternal question at college is how to dress comfortably and still feel confident in your appearance. I'm going to show you a few different scenarios in which you are really comfortable but still manage to look put together!

First Day
Untitled #3
Everyone wants to impress the first day, especially if you're starting at a new school or a new job. However, I know it's going to be hot as hell in Maryland when I go back, so you have to keep that in mind as well. Last year I wore a maxi dress and it was a glorious idea. It allowed me to look put together but I'm basically wearing one piece of clothing that's fairly airy and cool as well. Just pop a jacket in your bag for class cause it usually gets cold!

Rainy DayHumid & Rainy

Oh, the turmoil of a sticky, wet day outside and being stuck in those damp clothes all day. I've managed to figure out the best way to tackle this after experiencing it all the time at school in Maryland (a very humid place if you didn't know). The key is layering. Layering, layering, layering. Thin layers especially. I start with leggings because even though it's sticky out, my legs get cold when the rain is coming down and denim doesn't dry well anyway. Then start with a thin tank or a dark-colored T-shirt (otherwise pit stains will show) and layer on top of that!

Night Out
Night Out

My final look is for a typical night out. This can work for the bars or even a house party if you switch out the earrings and maybe pull your hair back into a messy bun or ponytail. Keep it cool with a tank top and longer bottoms because it does still get cool at night during the summer or switch it up with layering on top and some cutoff shorts. I completely prefer to wear flats out partially because I'm 5'7" but also because they're generally more comfortable anyway! I love loafers because they're easy to walk in and come in all kinds of varieties.

    1. Thanks Lorraine! Uniforms do suck, I'm glad I never had to deal with them (although my fellow broke girl Rachel did until 8th grade). Your blog is lovely!
